Assessments for Immigration
The U nonimmigrant status (U visa) is set aside for victims of certain crimes who have suffered mental or physical abuse and is helpful to law enforcement or government officials in the investigation or prosecution of criminal activity. Congress created the U nonimmigrant visa with the passage of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act. The U Visa protects victims of crimes who have suffered substantial mental or physical abuse due to the crime and are willing to help law enforcement authorities in the investigation or prosecution of the criminal activity.
Provides domestic violence survivors with the means that are essential to escaping violence and establishing safe, independent lives. As a battered spouse, child or parent, you may file an immigrant visa petition under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), as amended by the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The VAWA provisions in the INA allow certain spouses, children, and parents of U.S. citizens and certain spouses and children of permanent residents (Green Card holders) to file a petition for themselves, without the abuser’s knowledge. This allows victims to seek both safety and independence from their abuser, who is not notified about the filing.
Human trafficking survivors may be eligible for lawful status, employment authorization, and a potential path to permanent residency, but they are a unique population with diverse and resource-intensive needs. Psychological hardship is an evaluation that assesses the psychological impact of deportation of a family member and assesses how it will cause extreme hardship for themselves or their families including spouse, children, or parents.
Asylum is a form of protection from removal. The applicant can file affirmatively or defensively and must demonstrate that they have a well-founded fear of persecution from their home country. Fear of persecution is based on race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, and political opinion.
- Individual therapy
Individual psychotherapy is psychological treatment in which emotional difficulties are addressed. In this process, the person (the client) establishes a relationship or professional alliance with the therapist who will help clarify, remove, and/or modify symptoms of emotional distress, explore self-knowledge, and mediate behaviors that prevent the individual from reaching their human potential while promotes personal growth.
- Couples therapy
Couples therapy is a type of psychotherapy designed to analyze and treat conflicts that arise within a romantic relationship. Depending on the type of problems that a couple is experiencing, the therapist adapts the treatment and the number and frequency of sessions to find the best solution for the relationship’s challenges.
- Family therapy
Family therapy is a different way of understanding and treating emotional problems and personal or family crises, since it does so by working with the whole family instead of with its members separately. Even if it is a member who shows the "problem", therapy is considered more effective if other family members are involved in the therapeutic process.
Group Therapy is a type of psychological therapy that is carried out with a group of people rather than with one person. While the term can technically apply to any type of psychotherapy that involves a group, it is associated with a specific type of therapy that makes use of group dynamics.Within the group process, difficulties such as anxiety, depression and social skills are addressed, to name a few.
The educational processes are those that promote the functionality of the students within the academic environment.
For example, we work with students learning styles, learning modeling, teamwork, organization and time management, and the development of teamwork skills. The goal is to remove barriers to faciliate learning acquisition.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) began in the early ’70s as a model of how we communicate to ourselves and to others. It was developed by Richard Bandler, John Grinder, and others. The NLP model gives us an explanation of how we process information that comes into us from our surrounding. NLP is focusing on the process, not on the content of events. NLP’s premise is that “The map is not the territory,” which is one of the presuppositions of NLP. It means that our internal representations (I/Rs) that we create about an event are not necessarily the event itself.
NLP trained coaches -at least any NLP coach who was trained by the Tad James Co. or a graduate of Tad James Co- are working with these presuppositions when they coach and guide you out of your problem state into your solution state.
Respect for the other person’s model of the world:
- Behavior and change are to be evaluated in terms of context, and Ecology.
- Resistance in a client is a Sign of a lack of rapport. There are no resistant clients, only inflexible communicators. Effective communicators accept and utilize all communication presented to them.
- People are not their behaviors. Accept the person; change the behavior.
- Everyone is doing their best they can with the resources they have available. Behavior is geared toward adaptation, and the present behavior is the best choice available. Every behavior is motivated by positive intent.
- Calibrate on Behavior: The most important information about a person is that person’s behavior.
- The map is not the Territory. The words we use are NOT the event or the item they represent.
- You are in charge of your mind, and therefore your results (and I am also in charge of my mind and therefore my results).
- People have all the Resources they need to succeed and to achieve their desired outcomes. There are no un-resourceful people there are only un-resourceful states.
- All procedures should increase Wholeness.
- There is ONLY feedback! There is no failure, only feedback.
- The meaning of communication is the Response you get.
- The Law of Requisite Variety says that the system/person with the most flexibility of behavior will control the system.

EMDR is a psychotherapeutic approach that works on the patient's innate information processing system.
This intrinsic system can become blocked for various reasons (eg, deaths, abuse of all kinds such as psychological, emotional, physical, or sexual, etc.), which begins to generate a wide variety of symptoms in the patient ( e.g., fear, anguish, sadness, emotional and even physical pain, low self-esteem or beliefs such as: “I am not worth it”, “I am dumb”, “I am damaged forever”, “I cannot express my emotions safely, " etc.).
This symptomatology, which is often not initially treated, can end up generating a mental and emotional health disorder (eg, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, addictions, etc.) in the patient at the moment when some event in the person's life acts as a precipitating factor.
